Letter, 1776 October 20.

Letter to J.P. Palmer describing the current situation of the Continental Army as it builds defenses above the City of New York. Keith discussing the construction of fortifications as a project that has lasted all summer. He mentions that discipline in the army has not been stressed and also a certain chagrin of the troops "whenever they look toward York and Long Island." Written at Kingsbridge.
